Jury

Sayumi brings more than 25 years of experience in the field of arts and crafts, specializing in contemporary jewelry art. She is a learner, creator, educator and collaborator who believes art is an important tool for humans which embraces various multisensory engagement through physical and emotional experiences in this ever-changing world. She has been invited to offer interdisciplinary workshops and seminars for artists worldwide, including Argentina, Armenia, Chile, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and many schools in US. Sayumi spent 28 years in the US before returning to Japan in 2018. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Metal Arts from State University of New York in New Paltz. Her work has been exhibited both solo and group in museums and galleries nationally and internationally, as well as her works sited in numerous publications. She was an adjunct professor in the Art Department at New York University. Currently she is based in Tokyo and teaches in the Department of Industrial, Interior and Craft Design at Musashino Art University.
