Simonetta Gola (1970), graduated in Political Science with a sociological focus, currently Director of Communications for the non-governmental organization Emergency. She began to work on communication and social inclusion in 1994, experimenting with the interaction between the Internet and prisons at Università degli studi di Milano. In the following years, she worked on the same topics for research institutes and European projects, focusing mainly on the detained women’s rights. Since 2001 she has been working in the non-governmental organization Emergency, first in the area of educational activities and since 2012 as head of communications and national fundraising campaigns. She has been a member of the Board and the Executive Committee of Emergency since 2009. She is personally involved in promoting a culture of peace and respect for human rights through the production of dedicated films, exhibitions and festivals. In 2014 she won the Ischia Communicator of the Year Award. For Feltrinelli she edited Gino Strada's latest book "One person at a time" [March 2022].
