Charlotte Franceries
Global Business Leader, L'Oreal Paris + President
McCann France
France
Charlotte Franceries doesn’t do tokenism—she champions cultural truth and authentic representation. As McCann Worldgroup Global Business Leader for L’Oréal and Ferrero, and the first female President of McCann Paris, Charlotte is part of a generation of women who didn’t grow up seeing women take the mic—so she took it herself. After two decades immersed in the L'Oréal Group—navigating pharmacy, FMCG, and luxury—Charlotte developed a decisive vision for building deeply resonant brands. From General Manager roles at Vichy, YSL, Biotherm, and L'Oréal Paris, she’s known for spotting organizational blind spots and rewriting brand narratives with impact. Her leadership helped propel L’Oréal Paris to become the world’s top beauty brand. Today, she’s reshaping the iconic Ferrero brand while also leading work across other FMCG, luxury, and retail clients. Charlotte unearthed the story of Ilon Specht, the McCann copywriter behind L'Oréal's iconic line: ""Because I'm Worth It."" Recognizing its power to shift the beauty narrative toward female empowerment, Charlotte championed Ilon’s story—creating an award-winning documentary (Grand Prix, Gold, two Silvers, and Bronze at Cannes Lions 2025), now streaming globally. ""I'm worth it"" has helped L’Oréal transcend the beauty category and genuinely empower women around the world. The documentary, with its impressive global viewership, has reshaped brand perception. Charlotte is a driving force for creativity—not only within the agency but, crucially, on the client side. Under her leadership, McCann Paris has earned significant industry recognition for campaigns such as: • The Bread Exam (2021): A campaign that raised awareness of breast self-examinations, awarded three Gold Cannes Lions, multiple Grand Clios, nine Gold Pencils from The One Show, and several Graphite Pencils at D&AD. • Opt-Ink (2024): A free tattoo to ""opt-in"" for organ donation in Germany—a legally valid expression of consent in a system that requires explicit donor approval. Most notably, together with L’Oréal Paris, Charlotte continues to elevate the message of women’s worth. Award-winning Cannes Lions campaigns such as The Non-Issue (2019), Lessons of Worth (2020–2022), Worth It Resume, and most recently, The Final Copy of Ilon Specht, or L’Oréal Paris initiatives she stands behind, such as Stand-Up Against Street Harassement, are clear proof. A mother of two, Charlotte actively promotes female empowerment and sustainability, making CSR a central focus. At McCann Paris, her commitment to gender equality is reflected in the agency’s Gender Equality Index—now at 97%, up from 68% in 2018. A strategist, speaker, and feminist with a sharp eye, Charlotte brings a bold lens to beauty, challenging norms and advocating inclusivity. Her message is clear: age isn’t weakness—it’s power. Women over 50 have never mattered more, and brands must reflect this. If you're ready for honest conversations about brands, storytelling, ambition, visibility, menopause, and sex—you're in the right room with Charlotte Franceries.
