Burcu Özdemir's path to leadership began after graduating from Istanbul University in 1999, when she started her career at Manajans/J.W. Thompson. She then refined her expertise over 2.5 years at Güzel Sanatlar/Saatchi & Saatchi, managing a diverse portfolio of brands. Expanding her global perspective, she gained valuable experience in the marketing department of Canada’s Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.Burcu then joined TBWA\Istanbul in 2002, where she started in account management and then swiftly progressed to General Manager. In recognition of the agency’s sustained success, Burcu was named CEO of TBWA\Istanbul in November 2018.As Group CEO, she serves as President on the Board of Directors of Turkey’s Advertising Association, influencing key industry decisions thanks to TBWA’s market leadership.She also holds board positions at Omnicom Media Group and the American Chamber of Commerce, further extending her influence. Additionally, she is a member of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD).Under Burcu Özdemir’s leadership, TBWA\Group Istanbul has earned numerous prestigious accolades.Her strategic vision and commitment to disruptive creativity have strengthened the agency’s position as a leader in Turkey and beyond.Throughout her career, she has received many individual honors.Most recently, Burcu Özdemir was named Agency Leader of the Year at the Campaign Global Agency of the Year Awards 2025.
