Nita Rehtonen is the co-founder and executive producer of Breakfast, an award-winning and craft oriented Nordic production company launched in 2023. Since 2016, she has produced films, stills, and animation with a focus on clear storytelling and creating space for new talent. She is also committed to building Breakfast’s soon to be released roster and worldwide network as the company continues its rapid rise. At Breakfast, Nita leads the drama slate and development with a long-term goal of producing a feature film. Every project, commercial or narrative, is a step toward that ambition, supported by diverse and collaborative teams. Nita was also in the Jury of Young Director Award (Cannes, 2025) and is honored to join the Gerety Awards Grand Jury and celebrate work that moves the industry forward. Her first feature documentary, Radical Creatives (2023), along with her short films, has screened and won awards internationally. Her dramedy short Try Me<3 (2025) is on its festival run and was nominated and awarded in Helsinki International Film Festival in the National Competition. Breakfast’s recent work includes the Helsinki International Film Festival campaigns of 2024 and 2025 have won multiple prices internationally, such as the Grand Prix at Golden Drum and Voitto Gaala, with additional Silvers at LIA, Epica, and Eurobest, and New Talent Silver in Ciclope in 2025. Their campaigns for Metacore Games and McDonald’s have earned recognition at Cannes Lions, Golden Drum, Eurobest, Vuoden Huiput and Voitto Gaala.
