Aïcha Wijland is a Dutch-born, Kiwi-raised, craft-obsessed art director at The Monkeys, Sydney. Previously an animator for projects on Sesame Street and triple-A video game franchise, Fallout, she started her advertising career in 2018 after winning a yellow D&AD Youngbloods pencil. She’s behind a weird and wonderful range of high profile work, from the multi Grand Prix winning track Give a Flybuys, to powerful and poignant work for The Uluru Statement from the Heart. Outside of advertising, she co-founded the sex-positive comic, The Sexistentialists, which undresses every sexy stigma. She’s also a painter, video-game enthusiast and amateur seamstress.
