Kat Gomez-Limchoc is the Executive Creative Director of Blackpencil Manila of the Leo Burnett Group Manila. She has been instrumental in the agency’s exponential business growth, its happy culture, and the consistent creative recognition it garners. She has led the team in winning awards for different brands and projects, earning recognition in the major shows in the Philippines, from the Kidlat Awards, Tambuli Awards, Boomerangs, Youtube Awards, to name a few, as well as in One Show, Clio, LIA, Spikes, Adfest, Ad Stars, APAC Effies, Gerety, New York Festival and Cannes Lions.
Kat is also the Lead Culture Officer of Publicis Group Philippines concurrent with her ECD duties, leading network-wide initiatives that foster employee engagement, continuous learning, and that inspire collaboration and continued excellence. Under her watch, the Philippines has consistently had the highest employee scores in the region and has been recognized as Best Place to Work in regional awards shows.
She was recently Best in Creative panel head for the 25th AOY of the Philippines, and has been Vice President and Competitions Director of the 4A’s Creative Guild, been jury head and jury member for Spikes, One Show Asia, Gerety and local creative shows, as well as a coach for the London International Awards LIAsons program for young creatives.
She has been awarded as one of the Women to Watch in Asia Pacific by Campaign and was shortlisted in the Campaign Women Leading Change awards for the Creative Captain Category.
She was selected to be part of the Pass Her the Mic initiative of Meta that curated a roster of female leaders to be keynote speakers at global conferences. She has been a speaker in Madstars Busan talking about “Building New Worlds through the Power of Creativity” along with other creative leaders from the Publicis Groupe, and recently spoke about Philippine creativity in the Cannes in Cairns festival. In various local symposiums, she has been asked to speak on creativity and on culture-building.
She has published three books, two of which were recognized in the Adobo Design awards, created social enterprises around sustainability and cultural preservation, been a fashion magazine editor, and a travel writer. She has recently taken a course from Harvard Business School on Sustainable Business Strategy, and is now on the board of ARK, an organization that has created sustainable solutions to hunger. She is also a coffee farmer of an endangered coffee variety. She is a wife and proud mom to two amazing daughters.
