Born in Mexico City, Rosalina Tornel is an Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Iberoamericana, specialized in Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence from Columbia University and Kellogg School of Management. She has a leadership award from Harvard University.
Rosalina is a strong promoter of the diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda both inside and outside the company. In addition to being co-leader of the equity agenda at PepsiCo Mexico, she has been a speaker in multiple forums related to women's empowerment, in institutions such as ITAM (Mexico) and other important companies such as GE and JLL Latin America, and throughout different business units within PepsiCo, from which she has sought to increase opportunities and the level of female talent.
Rosalina has more than two decades of experience in the consumer industry within the commercial area, both sales, and marketing, specializing in brands focused on nutrition, health, and wellness. For more than 18 years she has been part of PepsiCo Mexico, a company that generates more than 40,000 direct jobs, promoting the development of communities where the company has a presence.
She is currently VP & General Manager of Gamesa-Quaker-Sonric's in Mexico and of the Biscuits business for PepsiCo Latin America. In addition, she is part of the Board of Directors of PepsiCo Mexico, which has just reached 50% participation of women, a goal that the company had set for 2025. Previously, she was Quaker® Marketing Director for Latin America, where she was able to position the oat category as the fastest-growing category in the food basket in several countries, leading a strong digital transformation agenda for the brand.
Rosalina Tornel is recognized as a leader highly committed to the inclusive growth of the country and the well-being of the communities in which PepsiCo is present. She is the leader of the PepsiCo Positive (Pep+) agenda, an end-to-end strategic transformation in the PepsiCo México operation, with sustainability as the main axis.
She has directed different important projects within the company, including the development of the innovative Quaker® Qrece program, for which she led the development of alliances with organizations such as Care and Un Kilo de Ayuda. The initiative has shown it can help overcome mild malnutrition and moderate in children between 2 and 5 years. Quaker Qrece has been the first Latin American project that has managed to win the Harvey Russell Award twice (2019 and 2022), an award that is given internally within PepsiCo to all those projects that make a substantial difference and contribute to the creation of a better world.
She is passionate about bringing to life the purpose of brands to promote a positive impact in communities, Gamesa's goals include achieving 100% recyclable, compostable or biodegradable packaging by 2025 or earlier; Today, Gamesa's secondary cardboard packaging already is. Rosalina also leads the Agrovita program launched in 2021 which, in the next 3 years, plans to benefit 920 producers and 37,600 people, 50% of whom are women, through the implementation of regenerative agricultural practices on 12,000 hectares in Tabasco and Chiapas.
Rosalina has won 2 Effie Awards, in recognition of the great results of campaigns such as ""Palabra de Amor"" with Marías Gamesa®. Additionally, in collaboration with UN Women, Rosalina led the development of the Unstereotype Alliance, a platform that seeks to eradicate gender stereotypes in advertising and the media.
