Notes for Judging: | Sexual harassment against women is unfortunately widespread worldwide. You can even see it in public: On female bronze statues. We used three statues - "Julia" in Munich, "Mrs. Rhine" in Berlin and "The Youth" in Bremen - for the campaign and symbolized the social problem as publicly as possible. The figures became the main component of the outdoor-installations. The powerful message "Sexual harassment leaves its mark" was placed right next to or above the shiny golden breasts of the statues, while a QR code allowed the respective figure to speak directly through the smartphone of passers-by and make an individual appeal. The subline explained how widespread sexual harassment is. We’ve held up a mirror to the perpetrators and those who trivialize touching and objectify female bodies. Boldly and publicly. Right where people like to touch breasts every day. At the same time, we showed affected women how to get help. |
